Luisa Beccaria

I've been looking for a good picture of this dress on Liv Tyler and for the designer. Turns out it is Luisa Beccaria. I found a couple other gorgeous creations on her website.

Paddington Tote

Chloe has continued making Paddington bag variations as they have been so successful. The saleswoman today told my mom and I that anything with a lock sells well, which is really interesting since I have the original Paddington bag and had to remove the lock as it adds 5 pounds to the bag. Really. This Paddington Tote, in beige, also came in a great grey color as well. The leather is sooooo soft, it is lambskin.
This bag and the below items belong to my mom. We did a little "classics" shopping spree for her today and ended up with some great stuff. In addition to the bag above, we also got her a classic pair of black leather Christian Louboutin pumps...

...as well as a black Balenciaga. But this bag had a twist. A new sort of design detail. (See close-ups.) I hadn't seen this new design anywhere and it isn't online yet.

We bought the Chloe from Bloomingdales and the Balenciaga from Bergdorf, though neither are online yet. Shoes from bergdorfgoodman.com

Gossip Girl Day

Let's just have a Gossip Girl day shall we? She's the only one looking good today so it's really not my fault.
If this Herve Leger bandeau dress is this short on her ideal body just think how it would be on us folks. Oh my. Looks amazing on her.

Gossip Girl

I have only recently given in and tuned in to Gossip Girl. As in, I am on episode 12 of the first season right now. Anyway, I am on a Serena Van Der Whosit kick. Here she is at the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 premiere. (There are 2??) I'm thinking this is a more casual look for Gucci but I love it. And orange... not good on many people, except babies and hockey goalies, but I like it.

Eek
LBD

Marc by Marc Jacobs has a couple really great little black dresses out this season. Two of my friends purchased the above Assymetric Ruffle Dress which looks much cuter in person. I also like the below Viva Organza Dress. Both are sort of high fashion for a lower price tag- always a plus.

Jeweled Monday

Sorry the picture is so small but I really wanted to post these Zac Posen jeweled knickers. Aren't they great? Almost like hot pants rather than underwear. I can't find them online for purchase yet but they were in the August Elle magazine, so hopefully we'll see more about them soon.

Peroxide Blonde

Kirsten Dunst looks to be sporting a much blonder 'do in this photo. But maybe its just the photo? Looking cute on the streets of Manhattan- Soho to be specific.
Update: I just saw Kirsten on the street in Soho and I can report that her hair is not peroxide, it is just her normal blonde color. She was wearing a cute bright green shift dress.

She Can Do No Wrong

It's seems Rachel Bilson can do no wrong these days. I love this Monrow motorcycle jacket seen here along with the Chloe accessories. I went looking for more Monrow and found a limited selection on revolveclothing.com including this great cardigan.

Feathery Chic

Love this feather and sequin encrusted dress by Derek Lam on Amanda Peet. I generally love her style, on and off screen. When I was planning my wedding, my planner kept saying I had the same "wedding style" as Ms. Peet as I chose a dress with a black band, like her, and also based my flowers off of a photograph of her wedding bouquet. I didn't mean to be doing the same but it just happened the dress I picked also had black and I thought that was a cute concept- "similar wedding styles". I'll post photos of that comparison later today or tomorrow.

Sonia by Sonia Rykiel

I love this wool trench from Sonia by Sonia Rykiel. It looks warm but oh so fashionable with the side zipper, giant pockets and button detailing and because it is from her lower line, the price tag isn't outlandish.

Designer Rugs
I was shopping for rugs with my mom today and we wandered into The Rug Company on Wooster St. in Soho. I saw the rug below on the wall and immediately said "that looks like Marni." A salesman overheard me and confirmed it was in fact Marni. Gorgeous rug. Wow. But a little pricey for what we were going for- a 23 yr olds apartment- where parties will occur and food and drink will be mashed into whatever is below the feet. I would, however, suggest this company for any of your adult home needs. They have a huge designer collection, including designs by Diane Von Furstenberg, Lulu Guinness and Marni among others.

Lanvin: Runway to Red Carpet
In Style was doing a special on Lanvin, on and off the runway. A couple of them we had seen on here but a couple were new images to me. It is interesting to see them on models and then celebrities. Not that both aren't skinny but the gowns look more real on the red carpet and you can imagine yourself in them more easily.

Interesting...
BCBG

I have been noticing a lot of great BCBG dresses on my friends, on the racks and now in Vogue. I love this cream dress, I don't currently see it on the site but hopefully soon. It's about $500.

Name This Frock

I feel like the brand of this dress is on the tip of my tongue... Any one know who makes this dress? I love the grey and pinky-coral color combination.
As a reader pointed out, this is the Florinda dress from Mayle. It is available at www.net-a-porter.com

Gladiator Heels

I love these Jimmy Choo green snakeskin gladiators. The zipper is funky and goes with the look. As do the dark nails, looks like OPI "Lincoln Park After Dark" or similar.

A New Take on Duckies

Tory Burch has decided to add to her shoe empire with some colorful rain boots or duckies. I have been lusting after the Hunter wellies but now I am thinking I may want these. There is this version, apple green, as well as a cherry red version.
Look out for them, I assume they'll be available in the next couple months.

Lingerie Monday

I'm back. You know I like cherries, this set, called Cheryl, also features a great bow at the hip. You could practically wear it to dinner with that coverage...

Weekly Don't
A friend passed along a "don't" so worthy of posting that I couldn't resist. As those things do come along about once a week, I think we'll add a "don't" posting to the mix. These "don't"s are
of course just my opinion, but always good for a laugh.

These boots, on first glance seem fine... then you take a second glance and it starts to fall apart. First, tie-dye, of a sort, on boots. Second and more importantly, patent. Third, we have to question the word vintage in the product title. And fourth, patent might be okay if they were advertising these boots as a rain boot- as opposed to the Hunter boot say- but at $328 and with no mention of use for rain only, we have to call this what it is... A bad idea.
If you really feel you must have this boot, cannot live without it. Wait. They will be on sale. Oh and don't go thinking the all black version are any better just because they aren't tie-dye. No.

Miss Oops

This is a very cute product line called Miss Oops that offers cures for everything from deodorant marks to panty lines. A couple interesting fixers were the "Popper Stopper" which stops pregnant ladies bellybuttons from popping out and the "JAKS" which covers up unsightly cracks. (I would like to hand these out on the street.)

Style Icon

Now, I have several questions about this...
1) Who is it that dubs someone a style icon?
2) Who is Daphne Guinness?
3) Where can I wear that gorgeous, over the top, Alexander McQueen scarlet red coat?
This woman, Daphne Guinness, is called a style icon by Vanity Fair. (See above questions.) She is very pretty and looks to be very thin, but maybe that is the ginormous coat talking, and maybe she is a Guinness (like the beer)... Perhaps that a style icon makes. I have heard Gwyneth dubbed style icon and you are constantly hearing "It Girl" assigned to the latest up and coming actress, usually one on the indie film circuit. Maybe style icon is sort of the same thing?

Speaking of Yellow

This D&G satin skirt is beautiful. I love the funky zipper up the entire back that gives it a bit of edge. You could wear it to work and then out on the town. I might pair it with the black sheer KAiN tank here.

This Tom Binns necklace is very compelling despite the shockingly bright color. And it really isn't that expensive for all the bling you get.

I am not usually into animal prints but I think I can make an exception for these gorgeous Christian Louboutin New Simple pumps. It is a metallic leopard print rather than a furry type material.

Weddings on the Brain

I shoulda been a wedding planner, I love them so much, but then I'd have to work weekends. Nevermind.
Anywho, my friends Lisa and Andrew are getting married a week from today and as it's a Friday wedding, they have planned all day festivities for Saturday. The above is a logo for the Nuptial Cup which will include boggle, roller hockey, hand bag (not sure, popular in Chicago- assuming it involves both hands and bags), a scavenger hunt and a bar crawl.
What a great idea especially if you let your guests know ahead of time so that they can plan to stick around.
