This is a cute set from Kiki De Montparnasse- amour baby doll top and bloomers. I love bloomers. They are so "old fashioned" yet they had it right back then. Comfortable and airy, a wonderful thing for a hot and steamy June in NYC.

I LOVE this dress. The fit, the length, the color.  I love how she pairs the red earrings and sunglasses with it... a home run.  Very nice.  Need to find where this dress (or is it a skirt and top?) is from and purchase immediately.

My Wedding Dress

I went into the wedding dress hunt knowing that I wanted to find a dress that could be shortened after the wedding for more wears, at least every anniversary. As I am coming up on my first wedding anniversary, I hurried to find someone that could help me with the task. The highest and most frequently recommended (actually the only name I heard) was Madame Paulette on 2nd Ave.

I was nervous about shortening the dress but knew it was the only way I would ever wear it again. I didn't think about a daughter wearing it as I figure she will want her own style. If she wanted to, she could always wear my shortened dress to her rehearsal dinner or something.

Below are the results. I am so happy. I absolutely love it and feel like I went from a gorgeous Vera Wang wedding gown to a beautiful couture cocktail dress. The back of my dress, with the bustle, was always my favorite part and we were able to retain that in the short design.

Booties! They're Back!

I know I already posted about these booties but this is important. After I posted about them (having seen them on bergdorfgoodman.com) they disappeared. I couldn't find them online anywhere or in stores.

Well, they're back. They are on bergdorfgoodman.com again and I tried them on at Barneys yesterday... They are everything I thought they would be. Plus, they aren't as tall as I thought they'd be making them more wearable. I have not purchased... yet... but it was a struggle to walk out without them. I may just have to go get them next week. They are called "Hidden Platform Booties." Tip: They run small, order a 1/2 inch larger.

Eat Fashionably

If you live in Manhattan, you probably know Fishes Eddy. I just love all the colorful patterns on industrial strength plates, bowls and mugs. I have a collection by Cynthia Rowley that is no longer at the store that has people and lingerie about the edges. The collection above, also by Cynthia Rowley, is a bit more risque but equally colorful and clever. Called "Dirty Dishes" if features woman in bikinis or lingerie lounging about.

Birthday Monday

It is my birthday this week and I received this postcard from Agent Provocateur encouraging me to treat myself to something at their store. Unfortunately, there was no discount accompanying this offer so I won't be taking them up on it just now.

(I am in between jobs, must not shop... While I'm on the subject, it is so cruel that when you are in between jobs or out of work with all the time in the world, you don't have the money to shop... Cruel.)

Beyonce's Multi-Colored Purse

Here it is again. This time larger and on Beyonce. (Previously talked about on Jessica Simpson.) These colorful bags are by Dolce & Gabbana. A large version of the bag below. I still think it's a lot of color but it does spice up a white or monotone outfit.

As a side note, Beyonce is looking very pretty and svelte here. She is seen leaving one of my favorite restaurants- Bar Pitti in Soho. Great lamb meatballs.

Shoe Service Plus

For those Manhattan-ites looking for a shoe repair place, look no further. The best place is called Shoe Service Plus on 15 W. 55th Street, near 5th Avenue and almost directly across the street from The Peninsula Hotel. The high end designers all bring their shoes and bags to be repaired, weather-proofed, etc there. I actually found it because I wanted to get a pair of Christian Louboutin's repaired. When I called the store to ask if they would repair them, they directed me to them.

It always proves a great place for people watching and yesterday was no exception. Two ladies, one with the largest rock I've ever seen, dropping off bag after bag of designer shoes and a couple Chanel bags to be repaired. A man from Salvatore Ferragamo dropping of a new bag for something (we didn't hear what) so that it would be ready for pick up by his client today.

They are my go-to place for shoe stretching, heel repair (they can get the real heels from the designers for less than other places), polishing, and re-soling.

I just love Zooey Deschanel and she looks perfect in this buttery tiered Monique Lhuillier dress. I wish I had that dress to wear to dinner tonight...

Wedding Season

It's wedding season and as I happened upon these cute wedding related items, I thought the timing was right for a mention. Whether you are getting married or you want to gift someone who is... The Mr. & Mrs. luggage tags and passport covers above are so cute.

And I can't recommend any wedding planning organizer more than the Mindy Weiss one below. She has re-designed it slightly but the essentials are all still there. Beautifully illustrated dividers, every section and list you could ever need, and most importantly a handle for toting the binder around like a purse (which you will for 9-15 months...). I showed my binder so much attention that my husband wrote me a Valentine's Day card from said binder. I had to start leaving it at home more.
