A messenger delivered a bag from Net-A-Porter yesterday. (I am still overly excited about the same-day service). I was expecting it, I had ordering some clothes, but I was surprised and pleased to see two additional features this time.
1) I noticed on checking out online that you can order "discreet" packaging. The descriptor note underneath states: Don't worry, your secret's safe with us. Rather than the black bag with the Net-A-Porter label, the items show up in a nondescript, label-less bag. Not that I was hiding anything, I was merely testing it out, but if I was trying to hide something this is one way to go. Upon opening the nondescript bag and emptying it's contents, I saw the only indication of Net-A-Porter, a note along the removable base of the bag that read: Psst... your shopping is safe with us.
2) In emptying the contents, out came a substantial notebook-like item entitled Notes. Black cover, half inch thick, with a ribbon marker coming out the bottom, and thumb indents marking sections. It was love at first site. I really don't know how to describe it other than: part magazine, part fashion show, part personal fashion journal with areas for your comments and favorite items all culminating in the best part of all (mostly because I reverted to a childlike state), stickers! But not just any stickers. Stickers of several of the items featured in the book: Jimmy Choo clutch, Alexander McQueen dress, Christian Louboutin shoes, plus an odd accent sticker here or there. These stickers are meant to be used throughout the fashion journal sections as a way for you to point out your favorite items and must haves.
I love. It is childlike glee, mainly brought on by the stickers, but I know one thing for sure... A Net-A-Porter item must be purchased every season in order to attain this NOTES book.
