Now, I have several questions about this...
1) Who is it that dubs someone a style icon?
2) Who is Daphne Guinness?
3) Where can I wear that gorgeous, over the top, Alexander McQueen scarlet red coat?
This woman, Daphne Guinness, is called a style icon by Vanity Fair. (See above questions.) She is very pretty and looks to be very thin, but maybe that is the ginormous coat talking, and maybe she is a Guinness (like the beer)... Perhaps that a style icon makes. I have heard Gwyneth dubbed style icon and you are constantly hearing "It Girl" assigned to the latest up and coming actress, usually one on the indie film circuit. Maybe style icon is sort of the same thing?

I would love to have this coat --it's gorgeous!! -- but I can only see wearing it to a Halloween party. Granted, it would have to be the most fabulous.glamorous.wonderful Halloween party ever.
I would go as Little Red Riding Hood.
Daphne is famous (more so across the pond) for her "quirky" fashion sense. She's a prominent socialite - as suspected she is a Guinness like the beer. Vogue adores her, so it's no surprise VF has named her an "icon".
